Beneath The Boarder is a film that follows the life of a young Kashmiri boy, Raja Khan and the changes in his village, Gulmarg.
Raja lives with his family in the mountains of Kashmir, five kilometres from the disputed Line of Control between the Indian and Pakistan army. He lives under the suppression of the Indian army with limited education and the risk of deadly avalanches.
In recent years extreme snowboarders began visiting Kashmir and Raja. Rajas curiosity gave him the opportunity to learn to snowboard and meet westerners.
The film explores both the positive and negative influence of westerners in a muslim society.
We look at what the future holds for Raja and his youngest sister Benazir who without this influence would have a very different life.
