Mugga Mugga Story is a thought-provoking impact campaign that encompasses a documentary and virtual reality film.
Designed to highlight the parallel journey of the Woppaburra people and the Humpback Whale (Mugga Mugga) against the odds of colonial forces. The project will be used as a vehicle for the bigger impact campaign of creating a synonymous connection to the word Mugga Mugga to be adapted into modern language instead of Humpback whale.
SYNOPSIS
Australia has a Black History. For the past 250 years, the history of exploitation, slaughter, and enslavement of the Woppaburra people mirrors that of their clan totem, Mugga mugga, otherwise known as the humpback whale. Despite the violent slavery and whaling, the inexplicably tied parties also have experienced a recent surge in protection with the civil rights and environmental protection movements.
COLLABORATION
